a wedding in portugal
hello from beautiful douro valley!!!! the future location of mine and diogo’s vows.
*quick side note *- we are back on substack!!!!! so find us under reign to officially follow the newsletter on the app!
as you all may know, we are getting married in portugal next year. and today, this beautiful beautiful day, i made final decisions on the venue location of our wedding.
it’s been a deeply meaningful trip.
there is so much to learn from the portugese culture - including the ability to be the most relaxed people on the planet. they are so incredibly laid back.
the small towns i have wondered through, the coffee shops that offer ‘cafezinho’ at the bar, and the happy moments of the locals who realize you’re actually here to immerse in the culture and try to learn their langugage.
my favourite term of the trip so far: eu quero mais .. meaning ‘i want more’.
which to me, means i simply want more of this feeling.
i want more of this kind of life, of this ambiance.
douro, portugal.. i want more - and i can’t wait to indulge again, with my amazing loved ones and while marrying my best friend.
purity is the word
i asked my cousin for this word today.
i asked her to give me a word of what wellness in her life meant for her, and this is what she came up with. purity.
purity of heart, of spirit, of soul.
it makes me think of the idea of staying as true as we can to who we are, to a place of being of sound mind, sound heart, and of peace.
in the end, isn’t this what we all want? purity. a version of us that is so pure and grounded in our self.
a version of us that is unwavering, that is simple, that is uncomplicated. that is aligned.
pure; meaning we are who we are, and we stand for the words we say.
something new
♡ something good (for the soul) is wine. lots of local, organic and fresh wine.
♡ something new that i am reading is this incredible story of survival called 438 days. recommended by my amazing naturopath, it’s a story of a man who gets stranded at sea and survives over a year alone on a boat. i’m only 17 pages in, but i am captivated and wanted to share it here for you to look into if you feel.
if this edition moved you at all, send this to someone you love. or send it to someone that you were reminded of during this edition of the pause.
rest until i see you next ♡
