THE PAUSE : best time yet

edition 011 - your best summer yet toolkit, prioritizing your social circle, and embracing the feels you've always had

THE PAUSE

this song has been on repeat in my car.. (LA on my mind, i can’t breathe)

☺︎ pause close your eyes and really let the song (from above) fill your bones

☺︎ journal question where can i spread my light more? who could benefit from a little bit of my sunshine in their days?

☺︎ thought process most top-rated music doesn’t push past certain Hz - it’s good to find music that is complex that and invokes healing/deeper joyful emotion

☺︎ daily habit i leave this one open for you this week - but incorporate a ritual of your desire that brings you to nature + outdoors

☺︎ wellbeing challenge schedule a detox for this spring/early summer

☺︎ body reset eat less, and allow time for your body to digest

☺︎ summer mindset make 2025 summer the best one yet. and live everyday with good weather like it’s a gift - that was one tough winter.

journal question, continued : can i allow myself to vulnerably share my happiness?

i am so back into hosting mode and i cannot wait to have people over to our house this summer.

since we live up north, our get togethers usually consist of friends staying overnight or even for the weekend - which is a blessing as we get more time with everyone.

for those looking to make the most out of this summer, it’s time to plan - here’s what i am doing to ensure my summer is filled with love and moments i remember forever (especially with it being my first summer as an engaged girly!!).

for the adventurer:

new york state of mind in my last issue, i mentioned planning a small getaway in the spring. i suggest you also look to summer to plan a weekend in ny state - road trip and feeling the summer breeze - invite your best friends - and get all of the food/games/events organized.

muskoka muse take a day or night trip to muskoka and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the lakes over the summer. there are so many charming shops in port carling and beautiful drives to get there.

for the it girl:

the summer outfit find the one - the one you can feel so comfortable + sexy in. my new fave is a loose overshirt with a summer tank and white jeans, plus a comfy boot (a little more spring, but it works well on windy summer days).

the big event plan one event this summer that you are so excited about. find a concert. book a night at a local hotel in a nearby town. plan a big night out with the girls or with your friend group that is special. and most importantly, eat well.

the hostess:

the signature cocktail find a summer-y good beverage and become your own bar chef. this one is super easy and is absolutely delicious.

the hosting hack ask your girls to bring a small treat or dish that they love to make. this helps you to make less complicated dishes, and allows you to spend more time with the people you love in your space.

the entertainment get a karaoke machine ready, or perhaps a fun new table top game. our favourite game? our badminton set. you can also consider cornhole, which you can also do in the backyard.

hacks for all:

bucket-list: make a bucket-list of things you want to do this summer, so whenever you have a free moment or free day, you can pick something out of the hat.

hosting gifts: buy a few bottles of champagne/wine, or small thoughtful trinkets that you can keep on hand for gift giving when you’re invited to a pals home.

how to stay present: remember every day is a gift, and that here in (Canada) we don’t have summer at home for long. slow down. point out the colour of the sky. wake up early and hear the birds. think of it as an elongated vacation that ends in september.

i always thought i felt too much

when i’m super sad i write. and this is arguably some of my best writing.

when i’m angry or feel pushed around i run. and these runs are where my breakthrough ‘bests’ have always stemmed from - and seriously charged energy and laughter.

and when i’m super happy and joyful, i socialize. i spread that happiness and love to the people around who totally absolutely need a light.

you don’t feel too much - you feel the right amount. because that amount is what makes you, you.

exactly what you need at exactly the right time.

all i’ll say on this one is - never hesitate on asking a friend to hang.

connecting with people who know you dearly is the key to happiness., and you’ll be surprised how many people thank you for getting them out and making lasting memories with you.

a few ideas for what to do with your friends:

  • movie night in

  • a local afternoon cocktail

  • comedy show

  • game night at yours

  • double date wknd

  • kid’s play date at the park

  • yoga/pilates class in the park

  • boat day!

something sweet i’m carrying into my everyday is that i am embodying everything that lindsay is, and not looking to others for clarification or approval. i’ve always had my own style of what i like and don’t like - i’ve always had my go-to foods that make me happy - i’ve always felt super drawn to areas of design and writing and expression.. and i am no longer letting anything steer me from doing the things i absolutely adore and feel so happy about doing. this includes losing my focus by being influenced to spend my time on something else that isn’t an ‘f’ yes for me.

something new i’m doing for the summer is that i am living life out loud, and placing a slight pause on online-based work projects, and on actively seeing my coach and therapist. why? because i’m engaged and i want to soak up every single minute of this summer and live outwardly rather than on my computer or doing inner work. i want to be able to jump on plans and go whenever i need to whenever i’m called to. and i thought it would be fun to take all of the moments for me this summer.

something new i’m learning through cory richard’s book the colour of everything is that there’s so much we do to try to escape our feelings. when we come to terms with them, that’s when magic happens in our lives.

rest until i see you next ♡
