THE PAUSE : gratitude > happiness

edition 018 - why gratitude is the path to being happy, asking yourself the right questions, and what i invested in this week.

THE PAUSE

sunshine, a book, and this instrumental beauty.

☺︎ pause listen to this week’s tune above, and write down 10 things you are grateful for today. (sit with each of them)

☺︎ journal question is there something that i haven’t given deep thanks for, that i already have? how can i show more gratitude for it/for someone who helped me to achieve it?

☺︎ thought process gratitude is the way to happiness

☺︎ daily habit treat yourself to something you love once or twice(!) a day this week.

☺︎ wellbeing challenge walk 10,000 daily steps and raise your protein intake

☺︎ weekly connection instead of thinking of what to say next, think of how you can listen more and soak in what others are sharing with you - with deep understanding and an intention of connection.

to continue last week’s thoughts: what we want to feel is already within us

we search so far and so wide for the feelings that we already have access to.

sometimes it only takes a moment of sunlight to being us back into our calm; sometimes a kind word from someone else; sometimes a kick from the universe.

the point is, there is no seeking anymore.

there is only going inward.

if you haven’t felt your inner world in a while, this is a reminder to tune into it, and ask these questions:

body, what do you need today?

heart, what do you desire to feel even more full?

hands, what do you wish to create this week?

eyes, what do you wish to be awed by?

and soul, what is it that you are seeking for us and for the world around us?

my answers are always similar - it’s about love, self love, self reflection and connection with everything in all moments.

it’s about living a life more intentional and more alive than ever - with presence.

ask what your body needs, and aim to follow..

life becomes a bit lighter when you do.

what is the one thing you’re doing right now that is helping you?

what is the one thing you’re doing that is deferring you from your goals?

do more of the former, and eliminate the latter.

i wanted to share the above pyramid image because it think it is so beautifully crafted.

at the bottom of the pyramid, is where the journey to needing change begins:

‘conscious awareness’ - we start with the inner feeling that something isn’t right and must shift, and we desire to feel different than we do right now.

then, ‘self responsibility’ - we understand the necessity to embark on the journey ourselves - and we take responsibility and make plans to begin to heal.

‘self forgiveness’ - the next realization is that we need to let go; we need to allow ourselves to accept the fact that we are not perfect and haven’t been - we have made decisions, choices, and taken paths that were not supportive to our utmost best self. it’s ok, let’s let go and forgive and move on.

‘grounding’ - this is the most beautiful stage because it’s when you begin to feel liberated, and you recognize that there is a force working with you to guide you to a better life and to help you release old patterns or hurt.

‘joy’ - this is where many people who are on the healing journey arrive many times over (many many times because healing is always cyclical and things come up in life often to be healed), and get to enjoy a deeper connection to themselves, to life, and to purpose. sometimes that purpose is simply spreading that joy.

if you are contemplating your stage at this moment in time, i encourage you to uncover the next level of healing and embrace the next step. perhaps it is forgiving yourself - perhaps it is letting go. perhaps it is going from feeling content, to exploring what it feels like to become deeply elated. what is the next thing your body is telling you it needs to get there? listen in.

innately we are meant to grow and heal and expand our lives greatly, and to live in joy as often as possible. so don’t settle for a lower level, continue the journey to live your most aligned life.

something new i’m allowing for the sun to soak up all of my worries and stresses this summer, and if there was anything i was worried about - as soon as i’m in the sun, i let it go. worrying helps no one. preparing helps you more.

something i invested in this week was time with people i love. time with myself, with my partner, and with my parents. these are moments that stick with me always and help to build my character, my love, and my depth.

something i wanted to share this week was this message about allowing things to happen through you, not to you - take a moment to watch my reel here

you guys are seriously the best.

rest until i see you next ♡
