THE PAUSE : hello, my name is
edition 013 - why getting to know yourself is important, an exercise for aligning your inner compass, and something exciting i want to bring to you.
THE PAUSE
i sent this song to my sister yesterday and she loved it. click play.

☺︎ pause deep breath. have gratitude for the last person who showed up for you recently. send them good, gooood energy and love.
☺︎ journal question how can i get excited about life a little bit more today?
☺︎ thought process created is better than perfected.
☺︎ daily habit say one nice thing about yourself, to yourself, in the mirror every morning.
☺︎ wellbeing challenge eat daily for your gut (your second brain!!) - think warming foods, garlic, cinnamon, onions, beets, fermented foods.
☺︎ body rest ask for a single espresso in your cappuccino, not a double.
☺︎ wellbeing activity find an exercise outdoors you adore that calms your system and allows for inner reflection. incorporate it into your days, and bring it into the summer.

this week i had a profound conversation with a stranger.
it was about a very simple concept, but it hit home:
when we try to perfect everything - we halt creativity.
the perfection chips away at our ability to express in the moment (especially if we’re riding on an emotion, yeeeeehaw). it stops it in it’s track because we’re too busy going over everything we did + editing it, rather than letting it pour out naturally.
the messiness is where we are authentic. this is where the ideas come out raw, unfiltered, and fully true.
so - i’ll ask you - when was the last time you wrote on a blank page with no direction? jotting down, messy, raw and open. doodles and all. good ideas and the bad ones, too.
i’m sure you would be thrilled to see what thoughts, emotions, concepts, ideas come out. maybe it will be brilliant, or maybe it will be just what your heart needs.

you guys were sooo responsive to last week’s poll, so i want to ask you something else:
what is one thing you did today that you know would make you SO happy? |

i remember a time when i was so flippin’ lost.
i wasn’t sure what i enjoyed, and i was coasting through life living week to week. maybe sometimes day to day.
and that way of living made me hit a wall - a full blown depression - bed ridden, wondering why the heck i was so down/so low/ feeling empty + uninspired. possibly even angry at myself.
at that time in life, there wasn’t real direction in my mind. there wasn’t purposeful creation, or intention - there was just floating and figuring it out as i went.
and one day, when i did a needs exercise (which i’m giving you below) - i had a complete shift.
i went from nonchalant and feeling down - to feeling alive, and having a sense of real direction.
it was as if it helped my brain click in that i was unique, that i needed different things than my family or my friends around me - and there was a road map i could follow to create more happiness in my bones.
it lit a light and showed me the path to the end of the tunnel.
your unique compass exercise
1. take out a piece of paper.
2. begin to jot down the things that you need on a weekly basis, to feel your best. go deep and feel into it, in your body….
examples: deep conversation, romance, 5x workouts, 3x activities, 1 adventure, a new project weekly, a new client weekly, date night, an uplifting conversation, recognition at work, house organization, sweating 7x, 1 nature hike, throw out/donate 1 thing weekly, 1 day for rest, 5hrs for rest/stillness, meditation time, say no once, 1 dinner with my gfs, 1 social event, etc.(it can be anything that lights you up and supports you)
3. look at the list and begin to compress it to 5 main needs you can’t live without in a week - focus on what ignites excitement and deep joy for you.
4. make space for these needs in your week, intentionally see them through by making plans around them + with them.
5. consider the other needs you wrote down and begin to incorporate them more over time. every month, every 2-3weeks, and more frequently..

♡ something enlightening i’m doing right now is getting rid of everything in my wardrobe, my basement, my pantry closets that aren’t an F YES, I WANT THIS. why? because there is no room for clutter, for unused things, or for things that no longer have space in your life. you want to feel light, and free - and able to walk into your rooms in your home with a feeling of pride and adoration for your things. donate or sell anything that brings that energy down… immediately.
♡ something new that i started yesterday which is a huge health hack is: i am using this castor oil kit to help ‘dissolve’ a cyst i have on my neck. i’ve been researching this tactic: and apparently you do this for days and it begins to shrink any cysts/buildups on your skin. people have seen results with cysts the size of a pea to the size of a golfball(eek). mine is the size of the former, not the latter thankfully. keep you posted on my result.
♡ something(s) for your heart ICYMI last week i put together a beautiful, heart-warming meditation for you - the first one i’ve recorded in 3 years!!! if you didn’t get a chance, take a moment now. it was uploaded onto insight timer - here.
♡ something new i’m considering is having an event every year that i curate and host - for people to immerse into delicious food, good vibes, and likeminded conversation. why? because i am in the middle of wedding event planning and i’m LOVING every minute of it. my forté is definitely experiential events and being the hostess (with the most-ess - as my mom would say). for those of you who don’t know, i used to plan Porsche Canada’s marketing events with their cars and it was one of the happiest times of my life. shall we start lining up some events?
would you be interested in coming to an event? |
where should i host events? |
you guys are seriously the best.
rest until i see you next ♡
