THE PAUSE : spring meaning
edition 010 - settling into springtime, doing your own spring clean, and preparing for your romantic getaway
THE PAUSE
as the artist of this song said..
this song an invitation, one that’s open and hopeful ♡

plan a small trip for yourself this summer with someone you love. even if it’s a road trip an hour away, and only for a daytime visit.
romanticize the trip. make it about moments, memories, and spaces of time that allow you to truly be present + take all of your surroundings in. as well as the person/people you’re with.
pack a picnic; bring a small speaker, blankets, portable snacks and a bottle of sparkling. enjoy being outside again because thank goodness we have the warmer seasons of spring and summer.
or do this now, this weekend - in the spring light. make it intentional.

♡ pause go outside and listen to the birds (or you can play this for ambiance hehe)
♡ journal question where am i placing pressure on myself to make it happen now? how can i alleviate that pressure and accept where i am in this moment?
♡ spring cleaning where can i let go of 10% of something to lighten my load? (clothing, old dinnerware, throw out stuff in a drawer filled with nicknacks)
♡ thought process connection to yourself is meaningful. connection with others is exponential.
♡ daily habit every day this week text someone new and tell them what you love the most about them, and what positive thing they bring into your life.
♡ wellbeing challenge fresh air daily on your daily 20min walks!!!

“when are you coming home?”
she asked her daughter as she was sitting beside her. mom was now 98, and sharp as ever.
her daughter stares blankly into her mother’s eyes, as if perhaps she has lost her reality at last.
“mom, i haven’t been home in over 40 years.”
her mother grinned a small gentle smile, and put her hand on her daughter’s heart, clarifying to her that the question was of deeper meaning.
the daughter, about to open her mouth, caught her lips and closed them again. she knew in that moment, just as she had for years, what home meant.
home was very different than her life now. home was peace, it was a quiet life, it was deep love and deep gratitude for meaning and presence with her own inner world. she hadn’t been there for a while. she hadn’t known inner peace in years.
home was the dream she was always meant to pursue but didn’t. and she continues to pick herself apart daily for not living up to what she had hoped, what she had dreamed for herself.
mom then said, “don’t get to my age and have wonder of what that may have been like for you. i wish the life for you that you were always meant to have. i don’t have much time left here on this earth so please - come home and most of all, have fun.”
a small inspired story by Lindsay Rice

don’t only dream it….

sometimes we feel like writing.
sometimes, listening.
sometimes we want to deeply research why someone does what they do, and what inspires them to make what their idea of perfection is. whether in a song, in an article, or in a note left for their loved one.
sometimes we decide to make perfection ourselves, and end up with something else.
and instead only find perfection in the way that we feel when we create.

♡ something new i am loving is electrolytes. i fell ill last week (verdict is still out but i think i had salmonella poisoning) and my electrolytes were my saviour. they are instant replenishers of hydration and quuiiiiiite delicious. if you’re not into sweet drinks, this trace mineral concoction is what i put in my water daily and is another great hydration tool.
♡ something new that i’m realizing is that my style is my style is my style. no one can tell me what i am going to love or look good in. and this is why, when i find something i personally love, i buy them in 4 colours and use them forever. here are a few staples that are in my closet that i simply adore:
these tank tops are like butter
these t-shirts have been my faves for 3+ years
these jeans i have in 3 colours (not joking)
rest until i see you next ♡
